Persian Cat Rescue
A Persian Cat Rescue organization can set you up with an excellent pet. And you’ll feel proud that you’ve been able to help a deserving and
needy cat that had an uncertain future.
Persian Cat Rescue groups rescue Persians from animal shelters, humane societies, individuals, and pretty much anywhere there’s a Persian in
need of help. There are cat rescue groups dedicated to other pure breeds too - Siamese, Himalayan, Maine Coon, etc.
Rescued cats usually end up in a foster home until a permanent owner and home can be found. And you’ll find rescued Persians of all ages
available. From kittens all the way up to the elderly.
In most cases, these cats will be up to date with their shots and spayed and neutered. There’s usually a fee to adopt them, which covers some
of the expenses they’ve had to pay to rescue and provide a home for them. You can find Persian cat rescue groups listed online or contact your
local animal shelter or humane society for the one closest to you.
The beautiful Persian cat breed comes in pretty much all colors. And their long hair makes them a challenge to keep - which might explain why
they’re sometimes surrendered by their owners.
A Persian is unable to properly groom their thick, long hair by themselves. They need their masters to help them with frequent baths and daily
brushing. When left ungroomed by their master, their coat becomes matted. And the only way to remedy the situation is to have them shaved by a
groomer. So before adopting a Persian cat, make sure you’re ready to take on the responsibility of the frequent grooming required.
You might want to volunteer as a foster parent for a rescued Persian. This way you’ll be providing a great service, while also seeing if
you’re prepared for the responsibility of caring for a Persian cat. And you just might end up wanting to turn the foster situation into a
permanent situation - they’re such beautiful cats, with their large eyes and silky fur.
Before bringing any cat home, you’ll need to have the right pet supplies. They are - a litter box, food and water bowls, collar, flea and tick
treatment, toys, and brushes.
Adopting a Persian from a rescue group is a great thing to do. You’ll be getting a beautiful, great pet for a small price. And you’ll have the
great feeling of providing a home and saving a life.
