Free Pit Bull Puppies
You’ll see free Pit Bull puppies offered from time to time,
but make sure you’re prepared before bringing a Pit Bull puppy
into your home.
Pit Bull dogs can make excellent pets, if you’re prepared to
understand the breed and pick out the right puppy. You also
need to have the right supplies on hand and think about the
time and expense required to properly care for a Pit Bull.
About Pit Bulls
When talking about Pit Bulls, we’re usually describing three
slightly different dog varieties - the American Pit Bull
Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the American
Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Pit Bulls were originally bred to
combine the hunting and aggression of terriers with the power
and stable personality of bulldogs. This made them excellent
farming dogs and also gave them the capacity to excel in dog
fights.
Pit Bulls have the capacity to be very gentle or very
aggressive. It’s all a matter of how they are raised. If they
are raised in a gentle, unthreatening, and caring environment
they’ll grow up to be gentle, non-aggressive, and caring. If,
on the other hand, they’re raised in an unstable and abusive
environment - they might very well turn out to be emotionally
unstable and aggressive. This is why it’s a good thing to get a
Pit Bull while they’re still a puppy - when you can mold them
into exactly the type of dog you’re looking for.
Healthy Pit Bull Puppies
When looking at a litter of pit bull puppies, take your time
and examine them all closely. If any puppies look sick, then it
might be a good idea to look elsewhere. Even one sick puppy
could mean that they’re all sick - the others just might not be
showing signs of illness yet. A healthy Pit Bull puppy will
have bright, clear eyes. His eyes, ears and nose will be free
of mucous (dried or wet). Her coat will be smooth with no bald
patches or sores. And she will walk straight, without a limp.
Be sure to ask the owner for a medical history on the puppy,
including any veterinary records.
Pit Bull Expenses
Although you may be getting a free Pit Bull puppy, you’ll
still have expenses. You’ll have to pay for veterinary expenses
sooner or later. And you’ll need supplies such as: feeding
dishes, food, collar, leash, shampoo, flea and tick products,
crate or kennel, etc.
You’ll also need to be prepared to invest the time to walk,
train and bond with your new puppy. Pit Bull puppies make
wonderful pets if you’re ready for the challenge.
